ArtsBusXpress is a local initiative designed to expand the role of arts education in the San Diego area schools. Lack of transportation is often a key reason many students are unable to experience visual and performing arts venues as part of their school curriculum.

ArtsBusXpress works in partnership with San Diego area schools and visual and performing arts organizations to provide transportation so students can have a culturally enriching experience as an extension of their school programs.

ArtsBusXpress is an integral component of this collaboration, enabling students to have access to the many literacy based arts and cultural opportunities available throughout San Diego.

ArtsBusXpress provides the missing link to travel a two-way street, bringing arts and culture to the students and making a difference for entire generations of youngsters. For some, this will be the only opportunity they will have to visit a museum, see the opera or a play, or attend a classical concert.

Initially, K-12 students enrolled in the San Diego City Schools District will directly benefit from the transportation dollars to make curriculum-based arts education experience field trips to visual and performing arts locations. Eventually, we hope to extend this to include all schools in San Diego County and Baja California.
