Reflection - Alyssa

When Ms. Lake told the class that the librarian was coming to our class today to talk about a library website for Crawford. I was pretty excited to hear what he got to say. I am really into designing layouts and banners. Then Ms. Lake called my name to work on the library site, I was pretty stunned that she would trust me working on a website since it was my first year.

I thought that this project would’ve been really fun and easy. But each day it got harder and harder. It was really complicated because the librarian would change his mind a lot but it was the simplest thing to fix. I was thankful that I had my teammates because they were there to help me whenever I had a problem.

We were behind the first week because we were just beginners, we were struggling a quiet bit. We didn’t know what to expect. But we broke it down in pieces. Linda and myself worked with banners, while My, Henry and Sydney worked with buttons. It ended up being us 5 working with this website. I was quite surprise because it was our first website to create and we learned quickly.

Working on banners with Linda was really fun because we had a lot of ideas, and we made about 7 banners. He finally liked one of our banner which is posted on the website. I was really proud of myself because one of my own works was posted on the website and lots of people would see them. The banner was really simple yet it fits the whole page.

This was a great experience for me, because this would help me in the future. I wanted to do something with web designing, that would’ve been plan B if my plan A didn’t work out. I haven’t worked on Dreamweaver nor have I ever created any buttons. Buttons were really hard to do, there were so many steps that we had to go through just to make it all perfect, but we got through it all. I already knew my way around Adobe Photoshop; maybe that’s why I wanted to work with the banners.

I don’t think my group would’ve gone far as we have now if we didn’t have each other. We helped one another, we worked as a team, and that’s how we got to create a website and met each deadlines. It was quite hard, yet it was still fun. Even if some people got mad, we knew we had to let it go because it was just frustration taking over.
