Reflection - My Truong

Maintaining a website is pretty fun, but also hard at the same time. You need a lot of patience with the client and you need to have what they want in their site, but if I disagree with what the client wants, I make suggestions on how to make it better. Working with your team is very important. Sometimes we have arguments on how we want the banner or the images sized. But everyone has his or her own style, which makes web designing with a group is pretty tough.

When I first got in I was interested on how people run their sites, and how they get where they want their links are or how they link texts with out manually typing all the html coding. The first real site I worked for is the Crawford Library, I was chosen for my creativity. Everyone in my group was chosen for a reason, and all of us working as a team made the site great and as good as we can make it. We had to make a really good banner that can stand out, like an attention grabber.

The ROP Website Design class is hard at first, but you just pick up on it and it gets easier and easier every passing day. Learning how to create a website takes time, everyday you do something new and take it step by step. And the more you design banners, or buttons, you start being more creative knowing what the program can do and capable of.

Working in this ROP Website Design class has taught me how much dedication and hard work you need. This class has prepared me in the long run in life, because you’ll grow up working with people, even though it can be frustrating to argue with your team. It also made me realize you have to talk to your clients professionally to get respected and to show you’re not unreliable and irresponsible. This class requires a lot of teamwork, and the whole class is busy working with a client or making their own website. But when someone needs help a classmate will help and the whole classroom has the patience, and the skills to make banners, and make buttons.

Overall this class is worth being in, everyday there is something new, either you have to put in more texts, or make banners, or design an image for a site. The only flaw would be not making your client unsatisfied on how you make their website. But they tell you what they do and don’t like, so it would be easy to just fix that problem and everything will be what the client wants.
